At Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust we are committed to excellence, in both the services we provide our patients and the support we give our staff. And that’s why we need you. We’re looking for qualified Band 5 Nurses to join our team and be a part of our journey.

Joining us, you’ll be part of a close, supportive team, taking personal ownership for the levels of care our patients receive. With award winning, innovative, gold standard services at your fingertips, you’ll help us move forward as a Trust. With a clear sense of direction, we’re aiming for Foundation Status. You’ll be at the forefront, providing the highest standard of evidence based and research informed care. You’ll plan, assess and implement individual care programmes to those who need it most, and maintain a compassionate, caring and safe environment for all.

As a member of our team you’ll use your extensive understanding and knowledge of evidence based practice to enhance the care of our patients. Your ability to plan and evaluate nursing care will be crucial as you lead and supervise the work of qualified and unqualified nurses in your team.

With our increased importance on continued improvement and development of our acute services, we’re as committed to going the extra mile for you, as you do for our patients. We work together to create a positive team spirit, recognising achievements and celebrating success. We know that happy patients start with happy staff. One and all, we care.

We are committed to offering a wide range of exciting and innovative learning and development opportunities to ensure our staff are engaged to work in different ways to support the changing environment in which we operate and deliver our services across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. As a trust, we offer simulation training at the point of care, enabling staff to practice and develop acute clinical skills whilst learning about the real values of good teamwork.

We currently have a range of vacancies including in the following areas:

SAL / TD - Theatre Direct (TD) and the Surgical Admissions Lounge (SAL) care for elective surgical patients from many specialties. We care for patients on their day of admission, pre operatively and manage the post-operative care of both day-cases and in-patients. We treat our patients with a multi-professional approach, ensuring that their dignity is at the forefront of the care we provide.

Trauma Unit - The trauma unit is a busy 56 bedded unit providing care for trauma and Orthopaedic patients on the emergency pathway. We treat our patients with a multi-professional approach, ensuring that their dignity is at the forefront of the care we provide.

If your preferred area of work is not listed, we would still be interested in receiving an application from you so please do not hesitate to apply.
