An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated registered nurse with a keen interest in cancer services to join our incredible team. Experienced within this specialty is desired but not essential as we are able to provide a thorough training programme.
The Headland unit is a 21 chair spaced oncology/ haematology day unit with purpose built side rooms for teenagers and young adults and a stem cell harvesting. We are currently open 5 days a week and administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood product support and biphosphonates to patients aged 16 and above.
To support and enhance our nurses we have in house practice educators who work closely with new starters and guide our nurses to becoming competent in the delivery of systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT).
The post-holder would be based on the Headland unit which also staffs our mobile cancer care unit and allows us to deliver SACT in the community. There is an expectation that nurses will be willing to support our sister inpatient ward, Lowen if required.
On-going education and development is actively encouraged and there is access to degree level modules in Chemotherapy, Oncology and Haematology, as well as opportunities to attend local, national and international conferences. These posts will provide an opportunity for the successful candidate to significantly develop their clinical skills and knowledge base.
Full and part time positions considered.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
