Cardio-respiratory Inpatient Ward
We have an exciting opportunity available at the Royal Cornwall Hospital for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our well established team working within the Cardio-respiratory Directorate in Medical Service.
The Royal Cornwall Hospital has a busy 28 bedded ward within Cardio-respiratory. Roskear Ward provides care to inpatients on either an acute Cardiology or Respiratory care pathway.
Roskear Ward is a complex ward with a dedicated team who are continuously striving to achieve an ‘outstanding’ CQC rating. The successful candidate will be the senior nurse who co-ordinates the care of patient with exacerbations of chronic long term conditions whilst also caring for some of the most acute medical conditions in Medicine.
We are seeking applications from senior registered nurses who have experience in leading a highly motivated Cardio-respiratory team in the delivery of innovative care.
You will be working in a department that provides a positive environment to work in, whilst respecting your contribution to work within a specialty that gives you an opportunity to do what you do best, care for patients.

As a Deputy Ward Sister/Charge Nurse you will be a key player of the team in decision making for the on-going treatment and care of patients and the direction we take both the Cardiac and Respiratory services in Cornwall. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic person who wants to ensure the highest of quality in nursing care whilst respecting patient’s privacy & dignity. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills and have a good knowledge and understanding of clinical standards. You must be able to work on your own initiative and also be an excellent team player whilst being prepared to develop as an individual and support others to develop.
