The Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust is a developing Trust situated in the beautiful county of Cornwall serving a population of around 500,000 people, its not surprising that with its beautiful coastal scenery Cornwall attracts around 3.5 million visitors each year, making it one of the top UK tourist destinations.
Due to internal development, several of our current Advanced Theatre Assistants are being seconded to train to become registered Operating Department Practitioners. We now have vacancies for Advanced Theatre Assistants. These vacancies are at our three sites; The Royal Cornwall Hospital Truro, St Michaels Hospital Hayle and West Cornwall Hospital Penzance.
Applications are invited from enthusiastic and motivated individuals wishing to develop their skills in the Anaesthetics and Theatres Division. The role of the Advanced Theatre Assistant is to support the multi-disciplinary team and is paramount in ensuring the smooth running of the theatre service.
This is a diverse role and will include undertaking swab counts with the registered practitioner, labelling specimens, documentation, transportation of patients, moving equipment between departments, receiving and sorting stores and caring for patients as directed by a Registered Practitioner. These busy environments will require the ability to multi task and working under pressure.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in pleasant surroundings for a progressive employer which actively promotes education and training.
There are full time and part time opportunities available.
